Passports, visas and ESTA
Remember to always check the requirements for passports and visas on your trip. There are a number of different rules, for example, on how long your passport must be valid for depending on where you are travelling.
In addition, you may also have to apply for a visa for entry into a number of different countries. Before going on your trip, you must check whether one is needed for your destination. Information on passports and visas can be obtained at the countries' embassies.
Remember that from of June 2012 children under the age of 15 must have their own personal passport when traveling abroad.
When traveling to the U.S., travellers who do not need visas, including Denmark, must be in possession of an ESTA document. You can apply for this on-line and the application can be submitted at any time. However, it is recommended to do so no later than 72 hours before the trip. You must also remember to always carry a print-out of your approved ESTA, as the airline must secure that all passengers is in possession of a such . It does not always appear in the airline’s system and it may therefore ease the check-in process if it is brought along for presentation. You can apply for an ESTA document on this page.
