A good start to the year at Billund Airport

The total number of passengers in January was 127,834 passengers which is an increase of 14.3 % compared to January 2004.
Domestic went up by 21.2 %
Scheduled international went up by 8.3 %
Charter went up by 20.8 %

In January Billund Airport's top 5 destinations were:

Scheduled international:
Amsterdam
London
Frankfurt
Paris
Oslo

Charter:
Las Palmas
Tenerife
Hurghada
Lanzarote
Chambery

More and more skiing tourists travel by aircraft to the ski resorts. Every Saturday during the skiing season there are 6 departures from Billund to the popular ski resorts in France, Austria and Italy.
Concerning scheduled international services we are very pleased to learn that still more new destinations are coming up. As from April 4 British Airways/SUN-AIR opens a scheduled service between Birmingham and Billund and another between Helsinki and Billund. And as from March 28 Air Lithuania opens a new scheduled service between Warzaw and Billund. Unfortunately Cimber Air has decided to stop the service between Milan and Billund by the end of January.
Charter summer programmes look very promising with many new destinations and expansion of existing activities.
The amount of transported goods has increased considerably in January 2005. The increase is of 44.8 %. A significant part of this increase is due to the number of extraordinary flights with emergency aid to South East Asia. It is worth mentioning, however, that also traditional import and export rates have been going up.
