Continuing growth in Billund Airport

Many people going to the sunny south for their holidays have meant a fine progress in the number of passengers in July.

Compared to July last year the progress is of 47,000 passengers or 26.9 %. The rise in number of passengers is visible in all categories.

Domestic went up by 2,400 passengers or 35.3 %.
International scheduled services went up by almost 14,000 passengers or 19.3 %.
Charter went up by 29,000 passengers or 32 %.

The amount of cargo went up by 20.3 % in July. Import of textiles from the Far East is still the number one reason for this, but also large amounts of humanitarian aid to Darfur contribute to the figures. Unfortunately humanitarian relief for the refugees of Darfur is still much needed. On Monday, August 2nd, Red Cross will fly 45 tons of mainly tents and communication equipment from Billund to Sudan.
