How much checked-in baggage is allowed?

Rules for the size and weight of checked-in baggage vary from company to company. Within the same company, there are also different rules depending on the flight destination, start location and ticket type. What size carry-on baggage is allowed?

Rules for the size and weight of checked-in baggage vary from company to company. Within the same company, there are also different rules depending on the flight destination, starting place and ticket type. Therefore, you should contact your airline or travel agent to get information about your carry-on baggage.

As a general rule, you can always take goods purchased in the airport shops on board - this also applies to Ryanair flights from Billund Airport.

When should I meet before departure?

If you are going on a package holiday or you are using Ryanair, we recommend that you are at the airport at least 2 hours before departure.

If you are travelling with other scheduled airlines, we recommend that you are at the airport at least 1½ hours before departure.

Can I have knitting needles/crochet hooks in carry-on baggage?

As a rule at Billund Airport you are allowed to travel with knitting needles and crochet hooks in carry-on baggage. However, we recommend that you bring knitting needles made of wood or bamboo or circular needles.

Can I have liquid medication over the permitted 100 ml, needles and medication that must be kept cool in carry-on baggage?

Yes, medications including syringes/needles are exempt from the normal constraints. However, you must be able to substantiate the need and the medication’s authenticity.

If you need to bring a cooling element for medication that has to be kept cool, this is also allowed.

Billund Airport’s conference facility "Meetings" is on the right in the check-in area. Take the glass elevator on the right of the security checkpoint or walk up the stairs in the stair tower beside the Turkish Airlines office or the stairs in the stair tower by British Airways.
