At this point it seems that there will be 115-120 weekly departures from Billund to a large number of holiday destinations. Almost all major travel agencies offer holiday travels from Billund.

New routes in 2005 are SUN-AIR/British Airways’ services from Billund to Helsinki, Birmingham and Prague.
SUN-AIR and Finnair have via Helsinki really good connections to the Far East.
In addition to this SUN-AIR has direct services to Brussels, Manchester, Oslo, Düsseldorf and Edinburgh.
As from December 2005 DAT has taken over the traffic between Billund and Palanga in Lithuania.
In addition to this DAT has routes to Stavanger and Floroe in Norway.
Already as from January 9 2006 the German company Cirrus – in partnership with Lufthansa – takes over the traffic between Billund and Frankfurt from Sterling Airlines.
On March 26 2006 KLM takes over traffic between Billund and Amsterdam from Sterling Airlines.
Both services provide excellent connections to a very large number of the most important airports in the world.
In the summer program Sterling establishes new services to Rome and Athens.
After the merger with Maersk Air, Sterling is Scandinavia’s largest low cost carrier. From Billund the company will in its summer program have low cost tickets to at least the following destinations: London, Paris, Rome, Athens, Alicante, Malaga and Mallorca.
Cimber Air continues its services to Oslo, Stockholm and Münich.
Domestic
Domestic traffic went up by 5.2 % in 2005 to 167,534 passengers.
As from January 9 2006 Cimber Air takes over the domestic service between Billund and Copenhagen. Cimber has already announced an additional daily departure on this route, and the company offers favourable prices to frequent users of the domestic service.
This summer Cimber will open a new domestic service between Billund and the island of Bornholm. This means a historic first direct connection between Bornholm and Jutland. There will be 3 weekly departures over the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Cargo
Cargo Center Billund set a milestone in December 2005. It happened when a parcel with imported clothes from China was handled in the Cargo Center. The parcel meant that the airport for the first time ever has handled more than 50,000 tonnes of freight in one year.
The growth is expected to continue in 2006. Hopefully the day is not far away where there will be direct cargo flights between the Far East and Billund.
